Symmetry-protected difference between spin Hall and anomalous Hall effects of a periodically driven multiorbital metal

چکیده

Nonequilibrium quantum states can be controlled via the driving field in periodically driven systems. Such control, which is called Floquet engineering, has opened various phenomena, such as light-induced anomalous Hall effect. There are expected to some essential differences between and spin effects of systems because difference time-reversal symmetry. However, these remain unclear due lack engineering Here we show that when helicity circularly polarized light changed a $t_{2g}$-orbital metal, current generated by effect remains unchanged, whereas charge reversed. This protected symmetry time reversal operation. Our results offer way distinguish could experimentally observed pump-probe measurements Sr$_{2}$RuO$_{4}$.

Tunneling Anomalous and Spin Hall Effects.

We predict, theoretically, the existence of the anomalous Hall effect when a tunneling current flows through a tunnel junction in which only one of the electrodes is magnetic. The interfacial spin-orbit coupling present in the barrier region induces a spin-dependent momentum filtering in the directions perpendicular to the tunneling current, resulting in a skew tunneling even in the absence of ...

Symmetry-protected quantum spin Hall phases in two dimensions.

Symmetry-protected topological (SPT) states are short-range entangled states with symmetry. Nontrivial SPT states have symmetry-protected gapless edge excitations. In 2 dimension (2D), there are an infinite number of nontrivial SPT phases with SU(2) or SO(3) symmetry. These phases can be described by SU(2) or SO(3) nonlinear-sigma models with a quantized topological θ term. At an open boundary,...

Anomalous spin Hall effects in Dresselhaus (110) quantum wells

Anomalous spin Hall effects that belong to the intrinsic type in Dresselhaus (110) quantum wells are discussed. For the out-of-plane spin component, antisymmetric current-induced spin polarization induces opposite spin Hall accumulation, even though there is no spin-orbit force due to Dresselhaus (110) coupling. A surprising feature of this spin Hall induction is that the spin accumulation sign...

Inverse spin Hall effect and anomalous Hall effect in a two-dimensional electron gas

We study the coupled dynamics of spin and charge currents in a two-dimensional electron gas in the transport diffusive regime. For systems with inversion symmetry there are established relations between the spin Hall effect, the anomalous Hall effect and the inverse spin Hall effect. However, in two-dimensional electron gases of semiconductors like GaAs, inversion symmetry is broken so that the...

Analysis of the Quantum Spin Hall and Quantum Anomalous Hall Effects in a Two-Dimensional Decorated Lattice Using Entanglement Spectrum

Since the discovery of the quantum Hall effect (QHE) in 1980 [1], topological states of matter have been extensively investigated [2, 3]. A full family of quantum Hall like states was recently discovered experimentally, including quantum spin Hall effect (QSHE) and quantum anomalous Hall effect (QAHE) [4–6]. QHE-like states are examples of topologically nontrivial phases, distinguished from tri...
